Trains are built in sections, each block designated for a specific destination. Mine was manufactured in Colombia and assembled in Venezuela, setting off for the United States on September 30, 1995 a date that initially felt like a derailment but ultimately marked the beginning of an incredible journey. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the challenges of being an immigrant, highlighting how generational trauma and unresolved childhood issues can affect our mental health and ability to achieve our goals, form healthy relationships, and recognize our inherent worthiness of love and respect. These lessons have shaped my identity and ignited a deep gratitude within me, along with a strong desire to support others on similar journeys. If your train has derailed, let’s work together to transform it into a remarkable journey!
My train starts in the good old USA. By being a New Jersey native, my exposure to our diverse cultures allowed me to help people deal with different traumas from all walks of life. It’s never any judgment, just a sounding board. Also with being a woman of African American descent, this allows me to connect with those who find comfort in working with someone who looks like them. Whether you find similarities with me or not, one thing I can guarantee is you will have a partnership with me to combat your needs of healing. As long as you show up for you, I will show up too. Can’t wait to work together to build your new anticipated future.
Well before my emotions were trained, trains in fact brought me emotions… happiness. Growing up in Brooklyn I had a keen interest in the NYC subway system, the idea that trains can go anywhere and ride through any terrain (in the air, underground, through the trees) excited me. My analytical skills developed as I studied the bus and train system, leading me to have a great sense of direction. Transplant that into the mind, thanks to studies on neuroplasticity we now know that synaptic connections are formed, shaped, and reshaped by everything we do. We have the power as humans to disable and make new firing patterns, then from there we can have a new sense of direction. A sense of direction that is an upgrade from feeling lost or having no motivation to “go anywhere”. Let’s take a train ride together, you and me! I’ll be the train conductor and you can be the engineer. Try not to overthink the stop we are getting off at, but appreciate the journey along the way.
Trains run best when every car is supported and moving in the same direction. My journey began in Kingston, Jamaica. My lived experience as a woman, immigrant, Christian, and person of African descent, deeply shapes how I understand identity, resilience, and emotional survival. These early tracks inform the compassionate and culturally responsive way I show up in the therapy space. I work alongside clients to explore emotional patterns, facilitate understanding of self and others, develop healthy coping skills, and reconnect with their most authentic selves. Therapy is not about rushing to a destination, but honoring each stop along the way. You set the pace and direction; I’m here to help keep the journey steady, supported, and intentional. I invite you to join me on a path toward empowerment, healing, and deeper self-understanding, one meaningful stop at a time.
My train started back and forth between Massachusetts and New Jersey, growing up as a first-generation Haitian American in a family where therapy was often seen as “not wanting a stranger in your business.” Psychology became the grounding car on my journey, basically the conductor that quietly keeps things from derailing when life gets messy. Along the way, I discovered the importance of compassionate support, allowing it and why I want to help others find it too. I create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected, in other words, a judgment-free environment where everyone is welcome, cultural background, and spiritual beliefs. My approach is collaborative and consistent, helping you feel confident and empowered as they navigate life’s bumpy tracks. I’m here to ride alongside you as a partner in growth, healing, and identity development.
My train into counseling began early on, shaped by growing up with divorced parents and witnessing how unprocessed trauma and life stressors can quietly travel through families. I saw firsthand how adults, often doing their best, carried their own pain while unintentionally placing emotional weight on their children. Those experiences taught me something powerful at a young age: mental health matters, not just in moments of crisis, but in everyday life, relationships, and transitions. I earned a degree in criminal justice and am currently earning a degree in counseling with a forensic track, which has allowed me to explore the intersection of mental health, behavior, and systems. Along my journey, I’ve gained experience with domestic abuse, child and adolescent psychology, behavioral therapy, and forensic-related work. These experiences help me approach clients with both empathy and structure, understanding that every person’s story is shaped by manydifferent factors.
